Summer Conference: Tuesday 5th July 2016, Mary Ward House, London.

Dear Research Fellows and Exploratory Practitioners,

On Tuesday 5th July 2016 we will be co-hosting the annual Summer Conference with the Education and Training Foundation at Mary Ward House, London.  To help us with the preparations for the event please fill in the eRegistration Form for you to fill in with details of your project  and how you will be presenting your research. Please be ready with a short abstract as the form will not allow you to save and edit later.

We are also hoping to invite guest speakers and practitioners from other ETF Funded projects to share research on the day.  Each year we aim to take photos of the event but it is not so easy to take photos of all the presenters and therefore if you take any photos it would be great if you could tag them as #ETFResearchConf16 on Twitter! To see some of the tweets and photos from last year search #ResearchConf15 or take a look at the Storify below.

Library Access: SCONUL Access Scheme

Dear Research Fellows,

Some of you have asked about access to library resources at University of Sunderland.  After some research it appears there is a scheme that enables you to use the University Library.

There is a national scheme called SCONUL Access. It’s simple to apply using an online form, where you provide details of your home institution and the libraries you’d like to visit. Your home institution then verifies you as a library user and you receive a confirmation email. Simply take this email, along with your home institution library card, to the library you want to visit and they will issue you with a card to access their library resources. Each library will have its own rules and regulations, but for Sunderland University, any incoming SCONUL user is allowed to access the library during staffed hours, borrow up to 4 resources at a time, can be logged onto a guest PC in the building to access the internet, standard software etc. and access our e-resources including journals, where our licenses allow.

The SCONUL application form is found here  http://www.sconul.ac.uk/sconul-access

Happy researching!
